I highly recommend it as a fun and interesting read for all divers wanting to learn more about how to enjoy their sport in a safe way." -R. Duncan Mathewson III, Ph.D | Shipwreck Archaeologist for the "Atocha" project. "Tales From The Reef" is an informative "common sense" approach to recognizing and dealing with the potential dangers and pitfalls in the sport of scuba diving. The book focuses on how common mistakes can become life-threatening when more than one of them occur at the same time. As someone who has survived a near-fatal dive accident, I can attest to the importance of considering how minor problems can quickly escalate into serious ones." -Frank Ireland | subject of Chapter 11

John Nation Said: Salty Dog ( Mar. 2nd 2010 )

I just finished reading Captain Brad Neat's "Tales From the Reef" and even though I am not an avid diver, I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Filled with advice and interesting anecdotes, it made me want to get certified and head to the Keys. Self-published, there are some editing errors I understand will be corrected in the second printing and I'd like to see a bit more of the Captain's personal color come through. It's the personal quality of the stories which reminds me of the few times I was on a boat and that's what makes this read so much fun.

Ms. Sally A. Baumann Said: Enjoyable Reading ( Nov. 13th 2009 )

This book gets of to a good start and keeps on going. It wasn't long before I was laughing at the great sense of humor the author as brought to his writing. Before I finished the first chapter, I found myself order more books for Christmas stocking stuffing for the boaters and divers in my life. I know this book will bring them joy and knowledge.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys boating, scuba diving, or snorkeling. It is very informative and really keeps your interest (I laughed out loud more than once). I have gone scuba diving, boating, and snorkeling in the Florida Keys, but I definitely learned some new things reading this book!!

What a great quick read. The book has got me thinking of the chain of events that happen in everyones life, scuba diving or not. Stories are great and informative and sometimes humorous with a great lesson to learn. What a great book for Santa to stuff in a Stocking.
